| Description: | The Bahati Foresthas suffered severe deforestation over recent years, causing higher temperatures, less water and a decrease in food production. On Valentine’s Day 2009, our group visited the forest and ‘fell in love with the environment’! Since then we have focused our attention on agroforestry as a means to redress the concerns. We also developed a sawdust ‘jiko’ (simple cooker) to help reduce the need for fuel wood. |
| 3 ideas for combatting climate change: | Explore the local issues of concern and work out the needs Develop practical solutions that address local concerns Use agroforestry as a means to replace felled trees and provide useful resources |
